Kemin's software develpment team is composed of dedicated and talented .net and Angular developers that thrive in an agile work environment. Working with cross functional teams, they lay the groundwork for everything from production projections to customer shipments - and everyhting in between! Positions can be located in our Des Moines, IA headquarters or remotely.

Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of assigned user stories and ensure tasks have been defined to meet the acceptance criteria.
  • Act as the development owner for on a development project and ensure the backlog is properly maintained within allotted timeframe.
  • Become an expert in the existing business applications and the associated business functionality.
  • Compose technical documentation and troubleshooting guides to administrators.
  • Provide a timely and effective response to escalated user queries by analyzing, investigating and fixing bugs in production software as required; perform ‘root cause’ analysis on user issues/bugs and provide immediate workaround for critical problems.
  • Ensure proper stakeholder communication and escalation as required.
  • Maintain support documentation for software and system developed and ensure they are up to date.
  • Responsible designing and building data models in relational database systems.
  • Must have a significant level of understanding when it comes to Business Intelligence and should be able to build and design BI dashboards.
  • Take the lead on a development project and ensure the features and stories are assigned to the appropriate owners.
  • Develop strong relationships with the infrastructure and support teams to and provide assistance when necessary.
  • Partner with product owners and business analyst to ensure the back l define design requirements.
  • Keep up with the latest development trends and have an open mind to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Take ownership of product features and ensure they have been clearly defined to meet to goals of the product.
  • Responsible for leading code reviews and publish code into a staging environments
  • Conduct user acceptance testing sessions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in the field of information technology and 4+ years of prior experience desired, preferably with designing software for a manufacturing company or Associates Degree with 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience with C, VB, and Java programming a plus.
  • Software development experience, preferably in C# and should have experience coding with the .Net Framework or .Net Core using Visual Studio.
  • Proficiency in Angular platform
  • Basic understanding of the MVC design pattern.
  • Experience working designing data models within relational data systems such as MSSQL, Oracle, and MySQL.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, tools and business processes.
  • Experience with Agile is a plus, but not required.
  • Understanding of project management and the different phases and roles of an IT project.
  • Experience with Azure/AWS, Office 365, and SharePoint Development.
  • Experience in facilitating user acceptance testing.
  • Experience writing technical documentation and providing training.
  • Experience with source control software such as SVN or Git.
  • Must be able to “think outside the box” when coming up with solutions to problems
  • Must be proficient in English.
