Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Social Media Manager to join the Medical Communications team. This position is located in our New York City office. This is a new position within Haymarket’s Medical Communications Group and is focused on growing online audiences for Rare Disease Advisor (RDA) and other medical communications brands.


Job Overview:

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for maintaining and growing the audience of healthcare professionals, patients, and advocates for RDA social channels, as well as expanding our presence to new platforms and medical brands. They will maintain a content calendar and work closely with the Marketing Specialist and editorial team to produce engaging content, using existing resources as well as social listening tools.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the content calendar for Rare Disease Advisor social media profiles and other Haymarket medical brands.
  • Design and implement campaigns for different health holidays, conferences etc.
  • Collaborate across teams with editorial and others to produce content and develop audience engagement strategies.
  • Analyze web and social metrics and use data to inform and evolve the RDA social media strategy.
  • Oversee RDA social channel maintenance and update brand presence(s) regularly.
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor pages for feedback.
  • Suggest and implement new channels and content types.
  • Stay up to date on the latest best practices for social media and make recommendations based on the same.


Skills and Requirements:

  • 2-3 years managing social media on behalf of an organization or brand. Experience working in healthcare, pharmaceutical, patient advocacy, or at ad agencies preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of the differences between social channels like Facebook and Twitter, and what content is appropriate for them.
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics, web traffic data, and social scheduling and listening tools.
  • Experience with creating graphics for social media in Canva or a similar tool.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
