Schnabel Geostructural Design & Construction is looking for a Geotechnical Construction Laborer to assist with the building of underground structures. We are a very busy nationwide specialty contractor, founded in 1959 in Washington DC. This position can grow vertically into several other skilled trades. You will be working closely with site leaders to maintain a safe job site and a productive environment where we complete our project on time and under budget.

• Signal equipment operators to facilitate the movement of machinery or materials
• Dig, trim, clean and prepare piles, then install and backfill for hardwood lagging
• Dig, trim and backfill for underpinning pits
• Place and vibrate concrete, mix sand-cement and dry-pack for underpinning piers
• Operate machines that pump grout or concrete as well as, apply shotcrete through spray nozzles for application to walls
• Smooth or finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools
• Generally assigned construction labor duties including material movement, site cleanup, and organizing job trailers when necessary

As a general laborer you will operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying, and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.

• A minimum of 6 months of construction labor work experience or a certificate from a training program
• Underpinning experience (not required but preferred)
• Lagging experience (not required but preferred)
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to lift and handle objectives weighing 50+ lbs
• Must be able to pass a drug test
• High school diploma or GED
• Possess a valid driver's license or other accepted legal ID

• Work in levels of noise, dust, moisture, and temperatures normally found on construction sites
• Work in confined space as needed
• Work is mostly outdoors and subject to the elements
• Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, squat and tolerate heights without fear due to nature of our work
