Shop Mechanic Job at HEI Civil
HEI Civil, Inc. is a full-service civil construction company. We offer a full range of construction services, including heavy civil highway construction, commercial, residential, oil field, site development, dams and reservoirs, parks, and golf courses.
We are seeking a highly motivated Shop Mechanic to add to our team in Franktown, CO. The successful candidate will provide service to our fleet of Caterpillar equipment. Must be organized, detailed oriented, and comfortable working independently and as a team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Troubleshoot and repair heavy construction equipment
Order parts as needed
Prioritize repairs based on job needs
Follow supervisor directions
Work independently or with fellow shop mechanics
Perform regular upkeep of shop and yard
Account for daily parts invoices
Create and complete work orders correctly and timely
Contribute knowledge and ideas to increase productivity
Continue learning and strengthening skills
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Works well independently and has a passion to learn
Good organization skills and follow through
Alert, focused, and detail oriented
Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic understanding of safe work practices
Full set of tools for large equipment repair
Familiar with OEM standards
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
2+ years of mechanic background (heavy equipment preferred)
Basic knowledge of Cat SIS and ET (training available)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Ability to utilize various tools, including but not limited to, torque wrenches, pliers, drills, and screwdrivers
Able to stand, reach, bend, and kneel in awkward and sometimes uncomfortable positions
Work Environment:
Inside Mechanic s Shop in various weather conditions
Outdoors in Mechanic s Yard in various weather conditions
Job Type: Full-time, Nonexempt
Hourly Rate: $28.00 to $40.00, based on experience
