As a SVP, stores, you will:
- Create a retail strategy, engage key stakeholders, and execute on a plan that is in alignment with the Caleres long-range plan to drive revenue and increase market share
- Develop strategic and operational plans, managing execution, measuring and delivering results to meet or exceed our financial goals
- Provide inspirational leadership and direction to both field and corporate teams and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization
- Assure a shopping experience that delights the customer leading to increasingly positive net promoter scores
- Foster a caring, inclusive, equitable, diverse, and collaborative culture where commercial, passionate, curious, creative, caring, and accountable people thrive
- Constantly assures that the store fleet is refreshed by entering and exiting individual stores with a focus on store productivity, brand experience, and consumer preferences
- Analyze daily sales by merchandise reports by company, region, District; respond quickly and strategically to any underperforming districts and stores
- Team up with Human Resources to create scalable and standardized policies and procedures that support the growth of the direct retail business and continued stability of the customer
- Partner with Creative and Brand Marketing to ensure in-store assets are created in tandem with product releases and support the overall marketing strategy and execution plan; additionally work with internal stakeholders on creating a seasonal creative calendar to support store needs globally and that is inclusive of on-site community events
- Build and manage relationships with Product, Marketing, Finance, Technology and Supply Chain Operation partners to ensure product and service are meeting and exceeding customer expectations; collaborate and influence relationships across departmental lines and the field to maximize sales
- Partner with real estate to ensure lease strategies translate demographic and other data in assessing the right locations for new or existing stores

We seek people with these qualifications:
- 15+ years of successful leadership experience operating multiple retail stores. Experience in the footwear or fashion industry is preferred
- Experience with multi-region leadership responsibility, including remote team oversight and ability to actively engage stakeholders at all levels
- Must have experience as a leader who can influence people, processes and technology choices in a manner that enriches the company’s culture and overall sales team performance
- Highly adept and capable of building and maintaining trusting partnerships and relationships across the board with business unit leadership as well as with the company’s external consumer, wholesale, retail and cross-functional partners
- Proven experience in strategic and organizational development, including the ability to attract, develop and retain world class talent with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Successful track record of leadership in a complex global matrix structure, where influencing skills are critical
