And we’re looking for a driven, experienced software developer passionate about hands-on work to join our on-site, Schaumburg-based software engineering team as a full time Senior Software Engineer.

Our software engineering team is responsible for having a breadth of knowledge of contemporary SaaS-based architecture and practical development experience using Java/J2EE and other services languages.

We are searching for a practical and results-oriented developer to join the Bectran team as Senior Software Engineer — a role dedicated to producing and implementing functional software solutions to drive application development and lead operational and technical projects.

In this role, you should be able to work independently with little supervision. You should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills. Your goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with our user needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute directly to full stack development efforts, UI updates and testing methodology while actively designing and creating Java-based computer systems and applications to solve complex client problems.
• Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.
• Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions.
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
• Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, and by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
