We are looking for a strong
Senior Site Reliability Engineer with AWS Cloud and Linux experience, an automation mindset, and a desire to build reliable and scalable solutions. Our SREs are responsible for the performance and reliability of our platform’s cloud infrastructure, with a focus on improving the stability, scale, and efficiency of our applications. The SREs own our AWS systems to ensure consistent deployments for our products and ensure stability of our applications for all consumers. We're looking for engineers who want to develop, improve, and scale our infrastructure. You will collaborate with our application development engineers to improve their development experience and the resiliency of our application code, and you’ll also have the unique opportunity to help architect RxSS’s infrastructure to solve challenging problems that can have a huge impact to people’s lives.

Our office is located in the Kansas City area, however, we offer hybrid and remote work options.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain our infrastructure as we grow and onboard more customers and more complex use cases
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards to ensure visibility into all aspects of our application’s performance and stability
- Implement, document, and design systems that are highly available, scalable, reliable, and self-healing on the AWS platform
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and developers on best practices on using the infrastructure services, CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and supporting a DevOps culture
- Assist in creating RxSS's infrastructure as code and automation tooling
- Participate in incident management, on-call rotation, and drive root cause analysis
- Create incident response plans to address issues quickly and efficiently, and document everything so your findings turn into repeatable actions; automate everything
- Help identify Service Level Indicators and define Service Level Objectives to assess the stability and reliability of all our applications
- Design and implement plans and procedures for disaster recovery, making infrastructure so seamless that developers rarely think about it
- Continuously influence our engineering practices to consistently improve our MTTR from production incidents
- Ensure and enforce best application and network security practices, adhering to compliance and security requirements
- Mentor new engineers, helping make other teams successful
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in an SRE or DevOps role on any cloud platform (AWS preferred)
- Programming in python, ruby, or bash
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform
- Expertise in Linux system administration
- Experience working with configuration management and automation tools such as Chef or Ansible
- Good understanding of cloud resources and concepts such as networking, load balancing, DNS, and security
- Skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks, identifying anomalous system behavior, and resolving root cause of service issues
- Experience deploying and maintaining docker applications and container orchestration systems management environments in production (ECS or EKS preferred)
- Experience working with relational databases
- Previous participation in Incident Management teams
