Job Summary

This position is under the direct supervision of the Senior Center Manager. Assist with daily management and supervision of the nutrition program for the elderly and staff in designated county.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to the manager in the day-to-day operation of the Senior Centerand is responsible for operations in the absence of the Manager and Driver.
  • Conduct programs and activities as required; maintain records assigned.
  • Assist with food preparation as needed, and inventory of meals on site. Maintain daily food count and prepare the meal order form for next day meal delivery.
  • Provide telephone contact to verify attendance and need for pick-up.
  • Provide outreach, shopping assistance, home appliance monitoring, and other services as needed.
  • Provide site maintenance as required; assist in the maintaining cleanliness of the senior center as stipulated by health regulations and contract requirements.
  • Assist in fund raising guidelines and activities.
  • Assist and may coordinate arts and crafts activities and keeps the inventory of craft supplies when assigned as needed.
  • Assist with required reports to supervisor; maintaining proper files and records of clients and program activities
  • Assist with collecting, preparing reports, and safe guarding program income and private pay funds and forwarding funds to the corporate office weekly.
  • Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly center.
  • These duties are not all-inclusive and the employee will also perform other related duties as assigned by the department head, supervisor, or other member of management.

Minimum Requirements of the Position

  • Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
  • Must have and maintain a criminal history absent of convictions for violent crimes or for any crime against children.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in social services or related area.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to relate to the elderly population.
