The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The starting salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Pay Grade: A6

Job Summary
Analyze and maintain application software by designing, programming, testing, and documenting the applications. Provide ongoing support to the users of the applications.

This position will be 100% Online/Remote after an initial on-campus onboarding and training period. Candidates for the position shall live within 1.5 hours of DMACC’s Ankney Campus and be able to report to Campus for additional training and/or circumstances.

Essential Functions
Design and code application programs according to project specifications to ensure consistency with current technology standards and compatibility with existing systems.

Test new and existing application programs and systems to ensure accuracy and completeness of information output.

Understand college practices and software used throughout the college so that effective interfaces can be developed with the current administrative application system.

Verify that the phases in the installation of new application software have been performed successfully and provide assistance in the use of application software.

Prepare documentation of application programs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Associate degree in computer science, computer information or related and five years of programming experience OR Bachelor degree in any area and five years of programming experience OR Bachelor degree in computer science, computer information or related and three years of programming experience.
Programming experience in a relational database environment using SQL.
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and stored procedures, including packages, functions, procedures, and triggers.
Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.

Desired Qualifications
Programming experience in Pro*C and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
Experience with Java and/or JavaScript programming.
Experience using the Eclipse integrated development environment (IDE).
