Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Surgical Stampings Job at Weiss Aug Co., Inc.
PURPOSE:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Surgical Stampings coordinates all technical and logistic aspects of producing high precision stamped surgical components. He/she will be responsible for interfacing with the customer on advanced manufacturing technologies, engineering, quality, tooling, production, and secondary operations to provide the highest levels of service, quality and delivery.
Position Functions:
- Lead or participate in trouble shooting of existing and new processes.
- Analyze processes using detailed data and experiments, presenting proposals to advance the precision, repeatability, and efficiency of production. Implement and verify acceptance of proposed improvements.
- Develop subject matter expertise in variables affecting precision manufacturing.
- Participate as a member of the APQP Project Team and Design Reviews.
- Create and maintain process documentation. Train personnel as it relates to process documentation and procedures.
- Supervise the preventive and predictive maintenance of surgical tooling.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lead small team of direct reports and indirect support staff to achieve world class levels of service.
- Adept at problem solving, data analysis, and decision making.
- Minimum 5+ years om high precision manufacturing – ideally progressive stamping
- Strong working knowledge of quality systems, CMM and Vision inspection, tool design, direct shop floor interaction on a technical level, and problem-solving capability.
- Working knowledge of secondary processing including heat treat, degreasing, tumbling, and automation.
Requirements:
- 4-year Engineering degree with practical manufacturing experience required.
- Strong organizational ability, sense of urgency, project management skills, and quality consciousness.
