The maintenance technician 3 will be responsible for all electrical, Profibus / Profinet, Scanners, ASI network, Climate Control systems, troubleshooting and leading repairs of the conveyors, plumbing, electrical, controls and mechanical systems. Participates in semi-complex maintenance tasks, equipment trial runs, investigative tests, troubleshoot equipment failures, repairs, and overhauls. Candidate will partner with 3rd party vendors for SME development.

Participates in training less experienced Techs on semi-complex problems, operations, and services. Performs preventive maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc. Maintains documents of all inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures using our CMMS. Assists lead and supervisor w/ Predictive Maintenance Strategies. Participates in the assessment of Automation equipment performance and recommends modifications or improvements. Responds to and corrects equipment faults while providing guidance to Operations and Less Experienced Technicians.

This position requires 5 to 10 years of maintenance experience within a Supply Chain Network. The candidate must have experience as a maintenance technician in a fulfillment /distribution Center. Performs complex and technical demanding work within technical area of expertise. Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them. Must have the ability to identify problems and articulate solutions w/ Team and Operations Leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads installation, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and modifications of conveyor, ASRS, Auto-baggers sortation, electrical and controls, site and building lighting, and mechanical systems pertaining to facilities or automation equipment.
  • Assists with recommendations pertaining to equipment upgrades, analysis of operation parameters of equipment, and other requirements to support operations.
  • Apply and Develop technical experience to improve and maintain both short- and long-term goals for Automation equipment. Partner directly with 3rd party vendors for Technical Development of self and team.
  • Standardizes and Sustains parameters during the operation of equipment, thus permitting the timely release of orders and meeting functional, cosmetic, and other quality control specifications.
  • Assists in equipment-related recommendations that will secure improvements in productivity, efficiency, cost control, and product quality.
  • Assists with maintaining SOPs and related documents, subordinates in maintenance and operation of equipment and all other job functions within assigned areas under the guidance of the Lead/Supervisor/Manager.
  • Helps implement methods that will maximize reliability of production and/or facilities equipment within its limitations.
  • Monitors and controls equipment in assigned areas to ensure the operation of equipment within written SOP guidelines.
  • Assists in monitoring daily performance of production and/or facilities equipment. Will assist and consult subordinates in technical issues used in troubleshooting equipment.
  • Identifies equipment failures which may affect performance and makes recommendations for corrective action.
  • Helps compile weekly and/or monthly reports to identify results as they pertain to operational standards.
  • Ensures equipment operation, maintains company CMMS, and ensures required documentation is compiled and retained.
  • Be available for emergency callbacks and flexible toward the daily start schedule and overtime requirements, including holidays and plant shutdowns.
  • Adhere to all safety codes, puts safety first and practices for self and others throughout the plant.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with ops departments with housekeeping and organization.
  • Sweep and clean all stair wells, walks, and common areas.
  • Wipe down all guard and handrails, cabinets, ledges, and lockers.
  • Partner with housekeeping contractor regarding canteen, office, and restroom cleanliness
  • Partner with ops and housekeeping to maintain all trash cans, paper towel dispensers, soap dispensers, hand sanitizers.
  • Dust off all signage in common areas.
  • Operate floor sweeper and scrubber as needed.
  • Assist maintenance with scheduled shutdowns and maintenance tasks.
  • Sanitize all door handles and timeclocks.
  • Campus wide outside trash cans, truck yard and parking lot clean up.
  • Usage of motorized and non-motorized floor scrubbers and sweepers.
  • Work OT as needed.

Experience:

  • Minimum H.S. diploma or equivalent, along with specialized coursework beyond high school education.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years related maintenance experience in a trade skill. Five years maintenance experience with electromechanical equipment experience is preferred.
  • Trade skills in one or more of the following: welding, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, instrumentation, forklifts, building construction, conveyor.
  • Electromechanical skills, troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, servos, and other discrete electrical control components.
  • Ability to interpret and understand maintenance manuals and electrical equipment schematics.
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial electrical and equipment mechanics
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to safely operate motorized heavy equipment.
