Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is in Jupiter, Florida and is the spring training home to the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins. Opened in 1998, the complex includes a 7,000 seat stadium, 12 full-size and 2 half-sized baseball fields, 4 batting cages as well as the surrounding landscape areas. We are seeking highly qualified, energetic, professionals that will assist the Director of Grounds in managing the facility.
The Senior Groundskeeper is responsible for supporting, assisting, and executing daily field maintenance operations at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium and the surrounding player development complex including but not limited to Spring Training, Minor League Class A and Complex League Championship Seasons, Florida Instructional League, Town of Jupiter Parks and Recreation, and any outside Amateur events/tournaments.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist in general maintenance and repair of playing surface (mowing, edging, mound, and plate repair, and infield skin maintenance) to Major League standards.
- Assist in the preparation of the playing field for pre-game activities as well as game set up.
- Assist in implementing sports turf management best practices, such as aerification, top-dressing, fertilizing, integrated pest management, and tarping, to align with scheduled events at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium and complex.
- Assist with field maintenance for all non-baseball related activities.
- Ensures equipment is clean, operational, and maintained in proper order and fashion.
- Ensures all tools and equipment are returned to their designated areas.
- Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performs other grounds-related duties as assigned or requested by the Director of Grounds or Head Groundskeeper.
Qualifications:
- Field or landscape maintenance experience preferred.
- Two- or Four-year turf degree or related field preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Hiring is contingent upon the passing of drug screening and background check.
Physical Requirements of the job:
- Ability to lift/move/carry items weighing up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to lift/move items weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to use/operate typical groundskeeping hand tools, implements, and power equipment on a regular basis for long periods of time.
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

- $16+ DOE.
