The Global Casualty Underwriting, Senior Business Analyst will be part of Global Casualty Underwriting office and will be responsible for delivering time critical tasks, such as: project portfolio update and development, project management, data analysis, spreadsheets, reporting and PowerPoint presentations and associated frameworks and controls.
As client’s casualty exposures become more sophisticated, new emerging risks present and inflationary legal trends persist, the role of the Global Casualty Underwriting, Senior Business Analyst will be critical to driving underwriting excellence across our casualty products and supporting the development of tailored solutions to address their complex risks, validating AXA XL’s reputation as a market leader.
The key internal interactions including but not limited to Underwriting Business Units, Pricing Actuaries, Risk, Claims, Middle Office and ESS, Governance & Operations departments (Legal/ Conduct/ Compliance/ Internal Risk & Audit.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Deployment of Global Casualty Product strategy and associated frameworks and controls
- Document deviances to Rules and Guidelines / Referrals e.g. systemic risks and associated exclusions
- Creation and maintenance of Underwriting Breach tool and conduct regular reporting
- Support GCUO Casualty by utilizing MI database(s) to design tools, reports and advanced analysis to enhance decision making, reporting and enhance portfolio performance
- Coordination with Risk and Group to track/monitor and report on Global Casualty portfolio aggregation, accumulation including GUL, Terrorism, Cyber, claims trends and emerging risks, etc.
- Work with BU Operations to promote data quality
- Work with ESS and BU Operations teams to coordinate Independent Reviews as well as Reinsurer Audits.
- Adoption of appropriate collaboration tools to share best practice guidance
- Support strategic projects as required by Underwriting Management.
- Produce concise and effective business presentations and deliver with clear expectations and outcomes.
- Ad-hoc support in other areas of operations as required.
You will report to the Global Head of Underwriting.
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Proven experience in and in depth understanding of (re)insurance product lines and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Insurance and several years of relevant experience in a (re)insurance services capacity
- High level of proficiency in the use of data capture applications/tools, data analysis and bespoke application development to enhance portfolio analysis and reporting
- Ability to analyze and interpret data appropriately and identify trends in order to direct/engage with others as needed
- Act independently, think in global terms and demonstrate excellent business acumen
- Strong Collaborator: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Provide guidance and seek input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible. Capable of working and collaborating with a virtual team, across multiple diverse geographies and cultures
- Use judgment to identify and solve day to day problems in straightforward situations
- Strong organizational, time-management and communication skills

The pay range for this position is $92,500 - $182,000. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
