The Senior Accountant is responsible for numerous areas of accounting and reporting for acquired surgery centers under development as well as joint venture entities. This role reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager.
Note: This is a hybrid position. The senior accountant may work from home but, to maintain strong teamwork during month close, must also have the ability to work up to two days per week at the corporate office in Phoenix, Arizona.

BS in Accounting/Finance
5+ years accounting experience (general ledger accounting preferred)
Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management
Able to operate both independently and as part of a larger functional team
Organizational capacity to manage deadlines and conflicting priorities in a dynamic work environment
Strong excel skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA License or candidate
Project accounting experience
Experience with E-builder

Job Responsibilities
- Monthly Accounting Cycle Responsibilities
- loan reconciliation and booking of journal entries
- fixed asset and construction in progress accounting for corporate and joint venture entities
- record revenue from development projects according to ASC 606
- generate progress billing based on input hours by project, SOW, development team
- cash accounting and bank reconciliations for joint venture entities
- actively participate in monthly operating review calls with facility leaders and operations management
- provide high-quality customer service to facility leaders regarding accounting inquiries
- Financial Analysis Responsibilities
- prepare financial reporting package for joint venture entities
- budget to actual result analysis for development and construction projects
- lead monthly P&L variance review for joint venture entities
- participate in budgeting and forecasting process for entities under design and construction projects
- Project Costing Responsibilities:
- start/setup new design and construction projects within software
- Import initial Joint Venture Board Approved budget
- file and input Commitments (Purchase Orders, Contracts, Signed Proposals)
- file and input Actual Costs (invoices).
- perform budget adjustments as needed or directed to ensure budget line items maintain sufficient balance to support commitments/invoices
- support and/or perform budget forecast as directed and coordinate with funding sources (loans, etc.)
- other tasks as required in construction accounting system
- file and input monthly GC Pay Apps (invoices) in cost tracking software construction accounting system. If project has a landlord tenant improvement allowance, submit pay application to landlord and monitor to ensure the landlord reimburses the GC.
- track pay applications and corresponding Lien Waivers via the Smartsheet’s Lien Tracker Tool
- Conditional Lien Waivers on Progress Payments & Final Payments
- Unconditional Lien Waivers on Progress Payments & Final Payments
- work closely with Accounts Payable on vendor payment tracking
- Ad hoc/impromptu projects
- assist departments outside of accounting with various projects and requests
- documentation of policies and procedures
- creative work in implementing/improving accounting processes
Required Skills and Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBS in Accounting/Finance
