Under general supervision, at the full performance level, employee will perform administrative work in support of the Watershed Assessment Branch of the Division of Water and Waste Management.
Employee will work with the assistant director in developing and administering the section's budget. Will monitor and process section expenditures and prepare and present reports relating to the section’s finances. Will draft and compose correspondence on a wide range of programmatic and administrative topics for the assistant director’s signature.
Employee will make corrections and adjustments on invoicing documents. Will track expenditures related to federal grants and work extensively with the OASIS financial system. Employee will be the section's administrative contact. In cooperation with the assistant director, will develop section’s administrative operating policies and workflow mechanisms. Will prepare forms for inventory coordinator. Maintain filing system for all administrative records of the section. Employee will participate in administrative management on contracts for development of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs), benthic organism identification and water quality and fish tissue analytical services. Will schedule and arrange meetings and travel arrangements for the assistant director and other section employees. Will scan field forms and enter into Application Extender electronic file system. Compile and distribute technical information to section staff. Employee may perform data entry functions: answer telephone, screen calls, distribute incoming mail and route internal documents. Will assist public information specialist with legal ads and information distribution. Employee will monitor freedom of information act (FOIA) requests. Will perform other related duties as required.
Employee must have the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people both orally and in writing; will prepare flowcharts, graphs and status reports; and the ability to collect and compile accurate information. Must have working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software – preferably Google Sheets and Google Docs.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
Experience: Five years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing clerical duties at the Office Assistant 3 level, encompassing a wide range of office practices, which must have in included typing, screening and routing telephone calls and correspondence, and composing routine correspondence.
Substitution: College hours or related business school or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for up to two years of the required experience.

Market Rate: $42,922
