Overview

Seeking candidates who are observant and display outstanding attention to detail. Candidates can enjoy working outside with our team in helping keep guests and staff safe all the while experiencing our Harvest and Winterlights Festivals. Candidates must follow all safety and security policies and procedures, report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries. Candidates must be able to complete safety training. Responsibilities

The following responsibilities describe the general nature of work for employees in this position, but this is not intended as an exclusive or all-inclusive inventory.

• Interact with the public and museum staff. Possess strong people skills
• Assist guests regarding general inquiries and rules by representing the Museum and security staff in a professional and customer service-oriented manner
• Interact and maintain fire pits and warming stations
• Maintain capacity levels throughout the experience
• Ensure guests and staff are following CDC safety protocol (social distancing, wearing masks, and hygiene)
• Work independently with the ability to exercise good judgement in carrying out standard policies and procedures for the security and safety of our guests and the displays.
• Position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking outside. Approximately 95% of time is spent standing or moving around inside and outside on grounds in the gardens. Must be able to stand and remain alert for extended period
• Report all incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies as required. Respond to emergencies, such as medical and bomb threats; and to alarms, such as fire and intrusion by following emergency response procedures
• Implement appropriate emergency responses to fire, safety, and access procedures by following security procedures established for these emergency responses

Required Skills

• Applicant must have a base level understanding of email handling to send, receive and communicate through electronic mail.
• Applicant must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the museum.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals. Must be able to complete job duties using military time.
• Ability to comprehend and understand detailed written or oral instructions. The ability to think critically and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and/or Experience

• Applicant must have a high school diploma/ GED equivalent and the ability to complete the required security training for the position.
• Proficiency in use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word/Outlook).

• Have excellent customer service attitude and related experience.
