The Opportunity

Stevens-Coolidge House and Gardens, a public garden and Trustees of Reservations property in North Andover, is looking for a part-time (24 hours per week) Engagement Assistant to provide support during in-person events and workshops from April 1st 2022 through January 8, 2023. Events will include artistic and horticultural workshops, concerts, and date nights, along with larger-scale family events like Spring BloomFest and Winterlights. The Engagement Assistant reports to the Stevens-Coolidge Engagement Manager. This is a seasonal, non-exempt position and is located in North Andover, Massachusetts.

In this role you will:

• Assist with on-site, in-person events, including event setup and breakdown.

• Provide a high level of customer service and welcoming to all event attendees.

• Liaise with vendors and event partners in a friendly and professional manner.

• Help gather and record feedback from event attendees.

• Assist with event prep work leading up to major events like Winterlights.

• Field inquiry phone calls and emails about events as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working on or coordinating a wide range of events

• You enjoy working with diverse groups of people and have excellent people skills and a positive attitude

• The ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as work cooperatively in groups

• Ability to be flexible with hours. Nights and weekends will be required

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

• Strong attention to detail

Other Requirements

• Night and weekend work required.

• Able to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting tables, chairs, and other heavy objects.

• Willing to learn new skills in order to meet a broad range of tasks.

• A valid driver’s license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees’ driving policy.

• A satisfactory criminal background check (CORI).

Compensation

This job is a part-time, seasonal position with an hourly wage starting at $16/hr.
