This individual will support pre-clinical development of new or emerging candidate therapies in our pipeline that modulate the immune system for the treatment of cancer and/or autoimmune disorders. This individual will develop and execute on workplans to advance candidate drugs from preclinical discovery into early clinical development in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities*

  • Experiment design, execution, data analysis, interpretation, communication and documentation of results
  • Cell-based immune assays focused on characterizing therapeutics that modulate immune cells

o T-cell proliferation/activation
o Cytotoxicity and cytokine induction
o Multi-parameter flow cytometry
o Experience with innate and adaptive immune signaling

  • Participate in matrixed project teams, with the opportunity to lead future early stage projects, which includes collaborating cross-functionally with protein engineering, in vivo pharmacology and translational medicine colleagues to advance therapeutic candidates
  • Apply expertise in immunology, cell/cancer biology and drug discovery to progress project though development milestones
  • Interact with external groups, such as contract research organizations and collaborators, to commission work or transfer assays as needed
  • Author or contribute to pre-clinical technical reports supporting regulatory filings (IND/CTDs, NDA/BLA, DSUR etc.) and abstracts/manuscripts for publication

Required Qualifications*

  • PhD, or MS with at least 2 additional years of lab experience, or Bachelor’s with at least 5 additional years of lab experience, in immunology, immuno-oncology, cancer research, cell biology, pharmacology/drug discovery; as evidenced by high impact peer-reviewed publications and /or a strong track record in pharmaceutical drug development
  • Experience developing and executing cell-based assays, preferably with protein based biologic candidates across a broad array of therapeutic classes
  • Knowledge of cancer/immunology molecular targets, a proven track record of assay development and knowledge of relevant preclinical cancer and autoimmune models
  • Decisive results-oriented individual who is flexible, team-oriented, creative and able to excel in a multi-project, fast-track environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary scientific settings
  • Strategic thinker who interacts and collaborates with project teams, peers and management in achieving discovery goals from both scientific and strategic perspectives
  • Experience in authoring technical documents
