To prepare nutritionally adequate meals meeting Type A requirements as assigned by manager; serve on line when needed; clean and wash all equipment and utensils used in food preparation, maintain standards of health, sanitation, and safety to comply with Federal and State regulations, assist in other areas or serve as cashier as requested by cafeteria manager. SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS Will report directly to the Cafeteria Manager, Supervisor, and Director. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Helps prepare nutritionally adequate meals meeting Type A requirements. Uses Child Nutrition facilities and equipment appropriately. mentally and visually alert. Able to lift up to 50 pounds Able to see clearly with or without corrective lenses Able to follow recipes and written and/or verbal instructions

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assumes responsibility for preparation of all assigned foods and having them prepared to serve at a specified time in local school. Stays mentally and visually alert. Applies knowledge applicable to the job. Maintains the ability apply the basic principles of foods cookery and have the knowledge of use and care of Child Nutrition equipment in the kitchen. Carries out other duties as assigned by the Manager, CN Director, or designee. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Educational requirements may be waived at the discretion of the Child Nutrition Director and the school principal. Experience should include prior Child Nutrition or Food Service employment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Interpersonal Communications: Requires the ability to speak and/or signal to people to convey or exchange information. Intelligence: Requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form. Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in Standard English. Numerical Aptitude: Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Motor Coordination: Requires the ability to coordinate the eyes and hands to use a keyboard, kitchen equipment, and knives. Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people and receive instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under minimal to moderate levels of stress. Physical Communication: Requires the ability to talk, see, and hear. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES General knowledge of the standard procedures for working in a commercial kitchen. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to follow recipes and read written instruction. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to see clearly, with or without corrective lenses, in order to maintain sanitation and cleaning of facilities and equipment.
