Sales Project Engineer
The Sales Project Engineer will work with the engineering group to quote machine options, share machine information, and act as a technical liaison between Mazak engineering (HQ and Factories), and Mazak Sales (Direct and Distributors), and 3rdparty vendors and partners.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Close engineering requests / quoting machine options, drawing requests, 3D model requests, and misc. detailed machine information
- Technical liaison between Mazak engineering (HQ and Factories), and Mazak Sales (Direct and Distributors), and 3rd party vendors and partners.
- Support assigned machine groups for customer option quotation and order processing support through installation
- Work directly with Marketing, Purchasing, Production, Sales and Executive Management to develop industry leading machine tool solutions; research competitor products to ensure and maintain market leadership.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to evaluate complex information.
- Create worksheets and pdf emails to document reaching conclusions. SPE will be assigned certain primary machine lines, and secondary machine lines.
- Provide detailed documentation to assist project development and design process.
- Monitor the engineering request database for new requests on their machines, and to put their name and date on the request and begin working on it.
- CAD is not required but is desired.
- Work proactively to promote teamwork at all levels.
- Additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
Education/Certification:
- Engineering degree is not required, but a technical degree is desired.
Experience:
- Potential of demonstrating incremental technical and project responsibilities in a fast-paced, highly technical manufacturing environment; machine tool product experience preferred.
Skills:
- Highly creative, investigative mindset – advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Team player with great interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of end user applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
