Job Summary

The Utility Sales Administrator position is responsible for completing administrative work for the Pepco Utility Sales Team. The Utility Sales Team packages construction materials for transmission and/or substation utility projects with utility customers, utility contractors and E.P.C firms. The position will support the project managers by completing required tasks in the project execution phase. This support includes all after sales responsibilities: order entry, expediting, preparing submittals, load customer pays apps, and project file management. The support goal is to enable project managers and estimators to focus on customer needs by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Practices positive professional and interpersonal relations, using tact, courtesy, and personal accountability toward customers and co-workers, and acts as a representative of goodwill on behalf of the company at all times.
  • Enters orders on suppliers in the Pepco Solar Eclipse ERP system.
  • Interfaces with the job management and project tracking systems to take ownership and complete assigned tasks.
  • Expedites materials from suppliers to meet required on-site dates. This includes an ability to understand when to escalate and order expedite.
  • Prepares quotations for customers where applicable.
  • Utilizes tools used by the Project Services Team to organize opportunities, manage the project in the system, and insure payment.
  • Resolves customer order problems and complaints promptly.
  • Acquires, uses and continuously develops personal technical knowledge of general and specialty merchandise items to assist customers and other company personnel.
  • Identifies, uses and maintains appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills: written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and how to escalate when required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and adobe.
  • Technical learning: quick study on using technology in support of sales process.
  • A team player in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred minimum 3 years industry or distributor sales experience is desired. (5+ years business experience in the Utility Industry market desired)
  • Eclipse knowledge is a major plus.
