Safety Project Manager Assistant Job at Goodwill Industries
The Safety Project Manager Assistant works closely with Goodwill’s Project Manager to fulfill the organization’s safety and risk management initiatives. The Assistant works across departments to build support for projects and strategies, supports insurance functions, safety initiatives, contracts management and sustainability projects. This position reports to the Project Manager within Operations and Retail and collaborates with all Goodwill departments.
Applicants should be able to work with equipment typically found in an office, should be able to perform the essential functions of the job, and work remotely and/or in person generally between the hours of 9am – 5pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates safety meetings, creating agendas and taking meeting notes
- Assigns training courses and sessions, and monitors attendance records on safety learning platform
- Trains team members in how to use safety learning platform
- Works cross-functionally to obtain information and support for meeting project goals
- Assists Project Manager in managing day-to-day insurance requests, claims and reports
- Proactively creates project workplans, identifies tasks and timelines, and executes to fulfill completion of projects
- Manages multiple projects (safety, insurance, facilities repairs, contracts, sustainability) simultaneously
- Collaborates with Facilities Department to execute safety repairs and improvements across the organization
- Assists in developing and managing new procedures for the organization to increase efficiencies and processes
- Creates and maintains accurate current vehicle inventories and other records on excel documents
- Utilizes technology to successfully perform job functions
- Participates in opportunities for continued training and development
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years providing administrative support, project management, safety initiatives and experience described in the essential functions of above job responsibilities
- Experience and proficiency in taking a proactive approach in learning the role and an executing project responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy, and ability to meet objectives and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and effectively manage multiple, competing assignments and responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills (listening, interpersonal, oral, and written)
- Experience working with multiple departments with a strong customer service orientation
- Knowledge/Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel & Powerpoint), Teams and cloud-based learning platforms
