Ruminant Sales Account Manager / Specialty Dairy Feed– California

Energy Feeds International is a leading provider of by-pass fats and mineral supplements to the dairy industry. Through the use of EFI’s full suite of supplements, nutritionists and progressive dairymen are able to customize their rations to maximize profits and feeding efficiency. Founded in 2006, our family-run business is located in Oakland, CA and services the entire continental U.S., Canada and Mexico.

We are looking for a full-time Entry-Level sales associate with a education in Dairy Nutrition or Dairy management. On farm experience is a plus. This position will require daily travel visiting customers in various parts of California, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.

Applicant must be a self-motivated, customer focused, and a goal orientated person with excellent communication skills and experience in the dairy industry.

Pay and Benefits
- Total compensation package of $150K to $200K; Base Salary range of $80K to $90K, annual pay is based on 50% base and 20% commissions opportunity.

Job Duties
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Sales within the assigned territory (California, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah), with occasional travel outside of the assigned territory for additional sales opportunities and trade shows.
- Develop and maintain annual growing sales forecasts in all product categories.
- Develop and execute marketing plans and strategies for the assigned geographic territory.
- Execute a high volume of farm, mill, and nutritionist visits per week utilizing a consultative sales approach. On farm interaction in inclement weather conditions may be required.
- Evaluate producer’s current rations/nutrition program to identify improvements and sales opportunities
- Organize and conduct presentations and educational meetings to educate dairy producers, feed mills and nutritionists on our product categories in order to sell product.
- Attend industry conferences as exhibitor and/or attendee for sales, networking, and marketing opportunities

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer skills.
- Bi-lingual Preferred (English/Spanish/Portuguese)
- On farm Dairy Industry experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to network in industry and perform daily cold calls in person.
