JOB TITLE: Room Service Captain

DEPARTMENT: Room Service

REPORTS TO: Senior Room Service Captain

JOB SUMMARY:

It is the primary responsibility of the Room Service Captain to oversee all aspects of day-to-day room services. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental policies, practices, and procedures.

THIS IS A GRAVE SHIFT POSITION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Daily Line Up to go over with staff daily events, group information, special requests, menu and checking grooming standards.

· Works closely with Senior Room Service Captain regarding servicing of events and special requests.

· Works directly with Senior Room Service Captain on staffing ratios, room lay outs and operation of events.

· Reviews Room Service Orders and has a complete understanding of the events as planned by the client and Senior Room Service Captain.

· Prepares back of house strike sheets for all events requiring equipment for service.

· Prepares server assignment sheets for each event.

· Communicates with supporting departments in finalizing details relating to food, beverage, equipment, power, and room set up for all events they are responsible for.

· Oversees the room service staff and insures they are following department policies and procedures.

· Practices and observes safety rules and regulations and encourages others to do the same.

· Provides input into the evaluation and implementation of new products and services

· Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.

· Responsible for obtaining maximum results in the utilization and appearance of the food and beverage areas, the quality levels, performance, and standards of service.

· Maintaining the storage, inventory, maintenance and usage of all related food and beverage supplies and equipment.

· Works to maintain the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness in food and beverage area.

· Handle all guest complaints regarding room service.

· Responsible for proper uniform attire and proper name tag.

· Report any lost/found items to management immediately.

· Performs all other relevant duties as assigned by upper management.

· Oversees and assists with set-up, service, and breakdown of room service events.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Work in a busy, fast-paced restaurant environment.

· Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure and effectively deal with guest, management, and employees in all situations.

NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to read, write and speak in English.

· Knowledge of general office skills.

· Excellent organization and coordination skills.

· Ability to perform basic/intermediate math.

· Adaptable to systematic changes.

· Be team-oriented individual who enjoys working with and serving customers.

· Be responsive to the needs of customers and co-workers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Preferred experience dealing with customers.

· Two years Room Service Server experience preferred.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

· Clark County Food Handler Safety Training Card (Health Card)

· Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM Card)
