Compensation: $15-18/hour depending on experience and certification(s)
Job Summary:
The Revenue Auditor/Staff Accountant is responsible for doing a thorough and complete check of daily deposits and all related paperwork, balancing reports, and data entry for accounts payable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a thorough and complete audit of daily sales and reporting bags for all departments: Food and Beverage, Retail, Reservations, Depot, Special Events, etc. daily
- Posting of revenue entries and deposits daily to appropriate GL accounts and following up with any reconciliation issues
- Maintain checks received log to be sure checks are getting deposited and reconciled in general ledger
- Prepare revenue reports including daily ridership, receipts log, and departmental revenue sheets daily
- Perform daily relievement of onboard sales, special events sales, or Rezware presales
- Run bank errands, prepare, and deliver cash and credit card deposits
- Maintain postage machine and all relevant supplies. Deliver outgoing mail and pick up incoming mail, date stamp accordingly and distribute to managers for approval.
- Maintain copy machine, all relevant supplies, and monthly usage reports
- Manage and audit company credit cards and collect receipts for entering into accounting software
- Assists accounts payable by reviewing invoices for appropriate approval, and entering into accounting software
- Review vendor statements for verification of all invoices received and entered and communicate with vendors as needed
- Assist with communications to managers/employees in collecting outstanding receipts or invoices
- Cross-train in reservations department to assist with making reservations, daily audit and system reporting
- Maintain excel spreadsheets related to sales/use tax, general ledger accounts, etc.
- Perform monthly on hand cash and inventory audits
- Investigate and respond to credit card disputes
- Train current and new employees on accounting functions including but not limited to expense forms, reimbursements, cash handling procedures, petty cash, credit card requests, Purchase orders, and check requests.
- Provide administrative support with ordering supplies, filing, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Detail-oriented, team player with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Must have a well-rounded understanding of basic computer technology and programs such as Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Must have cash handling experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting/accounts payable required.
- Must possess organizational skills with ability to multi-task while prioritizing workload with practical, flexible, and innovative approach to work.
- Ability to communicate successfully with a variety of personalities and function effectively as a member of a team.
- Valid Driver License.
- Must be able to interact appropriately with customers, industry partners, and co-workers in a relatable and professional manner.
Work Environment:
- Work in an office setting, some days with direct contact to the public.
- Varied schedule throughout the year dictated by train schedule and company needs.
