As a Residential Supervisor at the Ranch, you can walk with these amazing children, ages 10-18, on their journey to hope and healing.
At the Ranch, Direct Care employees have a responsibility to keep our kids safe and help them heal. The Ranch has a position for Residential Supervisor who have the special obligation to support and lift up the Residential Treatment Specialists to help them become the absolute best teachers and role models for the kids, all while continuing to develop and grow within the organization.
Residential Supervisors will exemplify the following behaviors:
- Provide supervision, including leadership, planning, directing, organizing and influencing the work of direct care staff in an effective and culturally competent manner
- Display respect for all voices, all cultures and all perspectives
- Works within a Trauma Informed Care practice
- Maintain supervision of youth, providing oversight and care for youth in residential and community settings
- Guide youth and staff to reach their goals by fostering relationships through positive role-modeling and positive supportive influence
- Record observations relating to actions and behavior of youth and maintains records and reports as required; daily documentation, i.e. weeklies, logs, incident reports, etc.
- Provide information and interact with parents, referring workers, therapists, and other professionals concerning the status of clients
- Monitor and maintain a safe living environment
- Ensure all shift tasks are assigned and completed
- Implement interventions on youth’s treatment plans, and evaluate progress.
- Participate in clinical programming activities with clients (ie groups, recreation, therapeutic riding, etc).
- Evaluate and respond to emergency situations, for ensure the safety of those served.
- Administer medications and follow medical treatment orders

- Give guidance to Residential Treatment Specialists to build their confidence and competence and to help them find success in their work

A Residential Supervisor must be organized and strong in the areas of oral and written communication, and time management.
Minimum qualifications/education:
This position requires workers to be:
- At least 21 years of age
- Pass a thorough background reference check
- Possess a current state driver’s license, and insurable driving record
- Holds a bachelor’s degree OR have at least two years of experience working with youth/families (ref NDCC 75-03-40-17), AND or completion of all training as required (ref NDCC 75-03-40-29)
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Preference will be given to those with supervisory experience.
