Residential Program Specialist Job at Vinfen

As a Program Specialist, you will uphold Vinfen's procedures and policies ethically. You will provide leadership and support staff with day to day issues that arise at the program. Reponsibilities include:

  • Learn and understand the role of a Residential Counselor ; previous experience as a residential counselor is a plus will also consider candidates with a human services background
  • audit files within DDS group home settings to ensure the program is up to standard.
  • work closely with senior management team to ensure programs are running smoothly
  • Assist new staff in getting acclimated to their program; assist in the hiring, development, and training of staff in the implementation of an array of systems
  • Provide opportunities and retraining to staff as needed
  • Aid Program Directors and Senior Program Directors monitor recordkeeping to ensure proper documentation
  • You will you will ensure proper standards and regulations are adhered to as required by the agency and external funding sources
  • mentor and advise staff in how to develop and network strategic relationships with peers, family members, professional, state, business, internal and community stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field preferred
  • A minimum of five years' experience in progressively responsible human services functions, of which three years have been in a supervisory capacity
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred in a Human Services field or related. In some cases, experience may be substituted for academic training
  • Strong time management and writing skills.
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers' license for at least one year
  • All applicants must be able to become CPR, First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment and MAP certified within 150 days of employment.
  • All candidates must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference, multi-state background and driving record check.

Vinfen continues to follow the guidelines determined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Vinfen leadership along with Vinfen's medical staff are closely monitoring the pandemic on a daily basis and make decisions that are best for the safety and well-being of the Vinfen community.

  • Virtual New Employee Orientation and Virtual training
  • Increased sanitation measures in all programs and group homes
  • PPE provided to all positions working closely with others
  • Restricting visitors in programs to reduce chances of exposure

Vinfen Vaccine Mandate Policy

In accordance to federal mandate, all new employees, interns, and volunteers within Vinfen's Massachusetts programs will be required to be fully vaccinated (14 days beyond last shot of Pfizer or Moderna or 14 days beyond receiving a Johnson and Johnson vaccine), or have received the first shot in a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) with an appointment scheduled for the second dose. A 2nd dose must be received within six weeks of hire and the first shot prior to New Employee Orientation or have an approved exemption for medical or religious reasons by the first day of employment with Vinfen.
