We currently have an opening for a Reliability Engineer (Electrical); this role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

The Port Townsend Paper (“PTPC”) mill has been in continuous operation for over 90 years. We operate on a continuous basis to produce OCC and kraft pulp which is used to manufacture linerboard, kraft paper, corrugating medium and market pulp. Job Responsibilities

  • Leads & supports safety efforts as a top priority.
  • Identifies equipment that has a significant impact on overall facility reliability.
  • Works with operations and maintenance to ensure critical equipment is inspected.
  • Leads Root Cause Analysis investigation & reporting process to determine how to best learn from and prevent them from reoccurring.
  • Works with operations and maintenance to develop reliability plans.
  • Develops/implements preventive maintenance for equipment reliability.
  • Reviews all proposed process and process equipment changes.
  • Reviews all proposed engineering projects in area of responsibility.
  • Provides technical support to maintenance personnel on equipment repairs, troubleshoots problems and equipment reliability issues.
  • Guides and supports lubrication, oil sampling/analysis, vibration analysis, predictive tech.
  • Guides and supports precision maintenance best practices and training efforts.
  • Guides and supports MWS and planning efforts via KPIs and other methods.
  • Special projects as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to teach and train others.
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work with software particularly CMMS, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead small group presentations.

Required Experience

  • 3 to 5 years or more experience in the pulp and paper industry.
  • Experience with training preferably Pulp and Paper or related industry.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
