JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees assigned accounts and handles all aspects of billing for medications provided. This includes but is not limited to; accurate insurance claim submission, individual or corporate customer invoicing, collections/follow-up and responding to customer inquiries. It also requires a working knowledge of payer information so the coverage can be verified.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:– Other duties may be assigned:

• Reviews patient orders to ensure all required documentation had been received.
• Gathers the necessary information for prescription documents
• Works with daily reports to review transactions, identify failures and incorrect billing.
• Utilizes all pharmacy checklists to assure accurate completion of necessary billing functions.
• Follow-up on status of assigned claims
• Communicate with customers and payers as needed with the goal of providing answers to questions and working to resolve issues
• Safely and effectively operates the following: pharmacy prescription processing software, printer, fax machine, photocopier, telephone, scanner and general office supplies.
• No direct physical patient contact is required.
• No Supervisory responsibilities are required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma required.
• Pharmacy experience preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-related human growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate services and ensure safety of patients.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong telephone, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Proven strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated detail orientation and ability to prioritize effectively.
• Medicare Billing Experience
• Knowledge of medical supply billing
