- Performs registration of patients, including interviewing, completion of required forms, and room assignment.
- Obtains accurate demographic and insurance data.
- Verifies insurance coverage and authorization for treatment.
- Communicates with other departments regarding registration of patients.
- Performs routine pre-admitting counseling including financial counseling/screening.
- Greets and directs patients and visitors.
- Accepts patient valuables.
- Must work well under stress or tight deadlines.
- Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous office/hospital experience preferred.
- Certifications: None necessary.
- LVMC reserves the right to modify the minimum requirements depending on the needs of the organization.
- Skills/Ability: Excellent verbal skills required. Exhibits the ability to organize multiple assignments and follow through with accuracy. Exercises good judgment under stress. Demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise.
- Other: Must have the ability to hear softly spoken voices preferably with out a hearing device.
