As a BCN Hospice Team member, you will be a part of a team providing care and support to patients and their families who no longer receive treatments to cure their terminal illness, but instead choose care to improve their comfort and quality of life. Our service allows our team members to focus on one patient at a time providing care where the patient calls home. While this often is a house or apartment, we also provide care at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. If a patient’s care needs are too complicated for home care or require a higher level of attention from nurses and other experts, we can provide care at one of our Hospice Care Centers.

About the role:
This Regional Flex RN position is responsible for providing nursing coverage where needed in areas throughout the region. The nurse will require cross training to include ability to care for patients in a routine home care, general inpatient or continuous care setting as needed. The RN provides skilled professional nursing care to the patient/family/caregiver as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with regulations as established by the State Board of Registered Nursing, the patient, and the policies of Bluegrass Care Navigators. This position reports to the AVP of Hospice Operations.
Position Qualifications:
- Active KY state RN license
- At least two years' general nursing experience is required with current hospice, home health, medical, surgical, or critical care experience. Has experience with providing good pain management, IV skills preferred.
- Negative TB skin test, pre-employment physician’s health clearance
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
- Can work as needed for a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation, and provide services at a variety of locations in and among defined regions in the BCN service area. Locations may include but are not limited to home environments, nursing facilities, and inpatient units.
