This position will have required travel to our California Treatment Centers a few times a week.

The Role

As the Regional Compliance Coordinator at Alsana, you will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accrediting board standards, and internal ethical and internal policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Researches, understands, monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, local, accrediting body and internal company standards
• Prepares quarterly briefing memo for Vice President of Compliance, Regional Executive Director, COO, Chief Clinical Officer, CEO, and other leaders outlining any changes to legislation or accrediting body standards affecting licensure and regulation
• Works with the Human Resources Department and others as appropriate to develop and deliver compliance onboarding and ongoing training for all employees in the region
• Oversees all matters pertaining to HIPAA/HITECH compliance, including audits and chart reviews
• Conducts and supervises breach investigations
• Maintains internal policies and procedures, including safety manual and safety plans, for each regional facility at the direction of the Vice President of Compliance
• Guides the TJC survey process, creating agendas, providing necessary documentation, and overseeing and completing any action plans for remediation post survey
• Coordinates the annual or bi-annual internal audit visit (Star Alliance); reviews and communicates results with the RED and ensures completion of all internal deficiency plans
• Generates quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reports specific to region to show variances and discrepancies from standards and reveal action plans for improvements to systems
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 1-2 years MAX of healthcare compliance experience (and/or a medical records background)
• Familiar with behavioral health compliance preferred, not required
• Experience in partnering with an executive team

The base salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000/annually for the State of California only.
