ABOUT THE GROVE
Designated a National Historic Landmark, The Grove is 148 acres of ecologically diverse prairie grove land and the original home of visionary horticulturist and educator, Dr. John Kennicott. Visitors take a walk back in time while touring the Kennicott family home, a real log cabin, a Pottawatomi Native American Indian village, a one room school house, nature center and more! Each year, The Grove welcomes tens of thousands of visitors for school field trips, educational programs, recreational opportunities, special events, weddings, showers, and so much more! JOB SUMMARY
We’re hiring fun, hardworking, dedicated, enthusiastic individuals! In this role, you will bring history and science to life working with children and visitors at the Grove National Historic Landmark! You’ll help provide the best in customer service while implementing safe, fun, and educational public programs and activities. Such activities include, but are not limited to, history tours, Scout programs, nature walks, family programs, drop-in programs, birthday parties, special events, and much more.
QUALIFICATIONS
The best candidates must have excellent verbal communication skills and must enjoy working with children. Previous experience working at museums, other living history sites, nature centers, or in an entertainment or service field is highly desired.
PAY & SCHEDULING
Both seasonal and year-round opportunities available, working approximately 10-25 hours per week. Weekend schedule includes: Saturdays and Sundays, as well as some weekend evening and overnight programs. Specific schedules will vary based on the schedule of events. Starting pay is $13/ hour.
