The Nanny Matchmaker Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275

CONSCIENTIOUS | KIND | HARDWORKING

THE FAMILY | Rancho Palos Verdes family is seeking a full-time, career nanny to help with the daily care of their two children and support with all tasks that directly or indirectly correlate to them. Having two young children, ages 3 years old and 4 months old, the family want to find someone who is confident and knowledgeable caring for infants and toddlers. They also want their new nanny to genuinely enjoy being around these ages and is proactively encouraging age-appropriate development through play and other child-friendly activities. This is a screen-free household therefore it’s all about play, engagement, creativity, and exploration. The family is structured, organized, loving, kind, and extremely warm. The mom currently works from home and is in the office one or two days a week. Eventually, she will be in the office on a more full-time basis. The dad works from home unless he is traveling.

THE PRESCHOOLER | She is an inquisitive, curious, and playful 3-year-old who loves to talk, ask questions and explore the world around her by asking “why”. She’s active, vocal, and loves/needs physical movement. She is learning and expressing her independence - it’s essential for the nanny to give her the tools to flourish. She has a sensitive nature therefore crucial for the nanny to be calm and adopts positive redirection and encouragement with her. She loves playing and engagement. She loves reading, baking, arts and crafts, and spending time outdoors in nature. She’s learning and practicing her social skills. It’s ideal for the nanny to encourage and support this development in a way that she responds to. She is a great eater but has severe allergies to flax seed, pistachio, and cashews - an epi- pen is required in her presence at all times and extreme mindfulness around foods and snacks in the home/outdoors. She currently naps daily from 12 to 1:30/2 PM and begins preschool in September two days a week, eventually, she will add more days.

THE INFANT | He is 10 months old and described as an easy-going baby who enjoys observing the world around him. He has a daily routine and is pretty consistent with his naps - some longer than others. He is solely breastfed and will continue to nurse or be bottle-fed when his mama is unavailable. He will be transitioning to solids in the coming weeks and will eventually become more mobile. It’s essential the nanny is knowledgeable and experienced in the developmental milestones of infants and toddlers as the nanny will spend the most time with him. The nanny is required to have previous experience working with breastfed babies and understands how to maintain the milk. Partner with both parents on best practices and methods for their boys. Support all aspects of their care including but not limited to the day-to-day routine, general hygiene/cleanliness, creating age-appropriate activities, meal preps, dishes, boy's laundry, tidying/picking up after children and self, etc.

THE FAMILY’S DISCIPLINE STYLE | The family adopts a very gentle approach to discipline and wants their nanny to have a gentle approach to “discipline” and views it as teaching moments rather than punishing.
