Primary Purpose
The Quality Technician is responsible for part and process conformance to The IFH Group, Inc. policies and procedures, and for ensuring that the in-process documentation is sufficient for the work being conducted.
Inspecting finished product and materials, documenting processes, ensuring product consistency and quality prior to shipment to customer. Attention to detail and consistent follow through are critical to success in this role. The Quality Technician is technically inclined but will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact across all levels of the organization. The Quality Technician must be capable of exercising solid judgment and decision-making while inspecting and take appropriate action to resolve any issues.
General Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- In process and final inspection of completed assemblies.
- Inspection of component parts (internal and purchased).
- Data documentation and reporting.
- Initiation and follow up of correction actions when appropriate.
- Disposition of customer and in-process non-conformances.
- Perform in-process testing to ensure product acceptability.
- Perform testing of finished product to ensure products conform to specifications.
- Must have good analytical and mathematical skills to interpret drawings, templates, and blueprints. Process improvement.
- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) understanding.
- Cross shift communication regarding quality concerns.
- Work closely with manufacturing and other QA personnel to resolve all quality issues.
- Contributing to and promoting a work environment that provides for positive thinking, team spirit, quality work, safety, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Have fun and enjoy your job. Ensures a clean hand off of good quality product to your customer (the next operation), in this case the welding department
- $16-$19/hr DOE
Qualifications
- Good understanding of measurement devices and quality assurance tools.
- Experience and/or knowledge with ISO quality systems a plus.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Read and interpret blueprints and customer specifications; use and interpret tools as needed.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word.
- Good math, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Some engineering skills preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
