POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides inspection service to support manufacturing/engineering requests. Ensures adequate and accurate inspection for incoming components and special requests. Coordinates timely disposition of rejected raw materials. Gives direction to Quality Technicians and Parts Inspectors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates non-standard inspections and folder updates, evaluates lab capabilities vs. requests.
Maintains and updates electronic check sheets per drawing and/or HY specification changes.
Non-conforming material: Pursues disposition of material; communicates requests for material returns with suppliers; sends samples; locates material within Oracle; maintains NCR log and documents; coordinates third party inspection.
Initiates and processes supplier chargebacks.
Maintains proficiency and competency testing for Quality Lab personnel. Monitors adherence to requirements of 17025 and TS16949.
Provides direction and scheduling for lab personnel.
Directs 6S activities; assists with inspections and follows up material paperwork issues.
Coordinates and identifies material per inspection zone requirements.
Coordinates post receiving alerts.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*:
Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred* plus a minimum of three years supervisory and quality experience required. Demonstrable knowledge of optical inspection machine, calipers, micrometers, indicators, optical comparator, and height gage required. Regulatory and Quality System requirements/standards knowledge required. Requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with attention to detail. Must be computer literate and have ability to manage multiple priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work will take place in a combination office/shop environment. Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays, and be on-call on occasion. While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to mechanical or chemical processes requiring the use of personnel protective equipment.
