SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality practices as required through SQF and Federal and company requirements/policies. This position will be responsible for checking and documenting various quality parameters as directed company’s procedures/policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. * Completes the Daily Quality Checklist by examining various areas of the facility acting as primary Safety/GMP Auditor. * Serves as a coach and trainer to QA Technicians and QA/Production Associates. * Inputs all relevant data using IQS. * Reviews QA data entry in IQS for accuracy and completeness. * Serves as a trainer for IQS. * Addresses quality/food safety issues uncovered as needed. * Acts as workplace safety advocate helping to identify and address safety issues, improvements and near misses. * Makes quality decisions on the line and reports any discrepancies or food safety/quality problems to the shift Production Manager and QA Leadership. * Follow and enforce the work and GMP rules of the facility. * Communicates clearly with management and other employees. * Pulls samples for QA retains and daily management sensory tastings. * Serves as Quality resource for R&D runs on the big line. * Works with Mixers to verify batches to ensure the right batch, ingredients, etc. and signs off on paperwork. * Involved in root cause investigation on metal detector and other non-conformances. * Maintains a clean and organized work area. * When First Production occurs, assist with ensuring correct specs, sensory, appearance, moisture, packaging, labels. * Backs up Quality Technician and QA/Production Associate positions when they are not present. * Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Understands workplace safety and Food Safety rules and regulations. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. * Ability to keep detailed records. * At least 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance is required. * Ability to communicate effectively with staff and leaders.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
