Procurement Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY:

A purchasing specialist will coordinate with the production team and will be responsible for the purchasing of production raw materials and parts. The candidate will ensure proper inventory levels and build strong relationships with vendors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Purchases parts, equipment, and materials by preparing requests for quotations and submitting purchase orders with approved suppliers.
  • Analyzes usage and determines minimum and maximum stock quantities as well as determining reorder points for materials/supplies.
  • Determines common stock items and creates purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials/supplies.
  • Monitors aged purchase orders and works to resolve any delivery issues.
  • Works directly with the inventory team to ensure record accuracy.
  • Responsible for escalating any shortages or stock outs.
  • Performs other activities as instructed by the Supply Chain Manager or other senior leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

  • University or College degree in Business, Economical, Finance (or related) field preferred.
  • Two (2+) years’ experience in procurement role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Very good computer skills (e.g: MS Office).
  • Good understanding of technical field is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation
  • Requires regular sitting, reaching, walking, talking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling and keyboarding.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
