Property Care Coordinator Job at Private Paradise Villas
Thank you for your interest in employment opportunities with Private Paradise Villas on Maui! We invite you to our dynamic team of hospitality professionals. This position is open to any individuals who already reside on the island of Maui (prefereably in Kihei-Wailea) and are fully vaccinated (a person is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after completion of a two-dose mRNA series or one dose of Janssen vaccine. Booster shots will be required at the soonest point in time they are due, to maintain employment.)
Immediate Full-Time Opening for Property Care Coordinator to work in South Maui with Private Paradise Villas, a Kihei, Maui-based luxury vacation residence rental and management firm. We manage ultra-luxurious "private paradises" or private vacation homes and resort residences for visitors seeking solace and fun on Maui.
We are a thriving and growing small business with 26 years of experience operating vacation rental homes and villas to exemplary and extraordinary 5-star standards. This year we celebrate 26 years of exceeding customer expectations.
The Property Care Coordinator will assist and take daily direction from our Property Care team and help coordinate the maintenance, repairs, inventory and all interior/exterior details of a boutique collection of ultra-lux 5-star vacation residences within exclusive and award-winning resorts, such as Wailea Beach Villas, Andaz Wailea, and Makena Surf.
This position requires keen attention to detail, conscientious application of time and resources, critical thinking, common sense, very good inspection skills (good observation skills), hands-on testing and general troubleshooting skills, the ability to adjust to a variable work load and changing schedule, and the ability to work under pressure. This is an ideal career opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills and is a naturally gifted organizer.
This role is very hands-on with physical movement throughout the day and all around our various properties, including scheduling and meeting vendors, meeting guests as needed, planning services, and obtaining quotes for various projects. The successful candidate must be able to notice very small details and be action-oriented.
You will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Manager and will be scheduled to help with a variety of property-care related tasks each day. You’ll report to and coordinate hand-in-hand with the Senior Manager.
In order to be successful as a Property Care Coordinator you will diligently inspect every detail of assigned properties, you will notice concerns ranging from cracks in grout to damaged furnishings, and you will be comfortable with hands-on testing of appliances (large and small), electronics, audio-visual devices, coffee makers, microwave ovens, ranges/dishwashers, etc. and you’ll be resourceful enough to promptly distill the simplest and quickest solution to resolve all concerns.
We have established excellent resources to rely on for repairs and evaluations via professional vendors, however our Property Care Coordinators need to be able to first manage some preliminary evaluations and troubleshooting. We do not expect you to actually perform hands-on property repairs, especially if they involve a licensed trade.
General conduct should be polished, professional, and comparable to senior staff at a "Four Seasons” or similar 5-star Hotel. Excellent grooming and personal presentation is required, as this position includes a fair amount of interaction with resort management and guest/visitor/property owners.
The ability to speak politely and in a respectful formal manner is important, along with good body language and a confident friendly personality. The ability to organize and write clear and fact-based reports about property conditions or concerns is essential, along with the ability to keep good notes and to efficiently track the status of many different projects at one time.
It is a fast-paced and ever-changing front-line customer service and property care position. Every day your priorities will flex and you will assist visitors staying in our residences directly, so good customer service skills are paramount, including having patience and savvy to successfully coordinate an abundance of fixes to unexpected property matters. Your ability to work well with vendors and service providers helps manifest an effective and enjoyable work experience.
This job works well for someone who can manage a flexible schedule that will include working weekends - Saturdays and Sundays. Work hours generally are a maximum of 40 hours per week with 8-10 hour/day shifts. Starting salary is $30 per hour. We are offering a $1,000 signing bonus to be made in two installments. $500 will be paid after successfully completing 6 months of work. An additional $500 will be paid out after successfully completing 12 months of work (unless released) There is potential for an increase in hourly pay after a successful probation period, followed by annual salary adjustments based on your wonderful performance.
