DEPARTMENT: Community Development SALARY RANGE: $15.00- $18.18/hr

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing administrative/clerical duties, preparation of annual grant applications and processing; maintain revenue and expenditure worksheet for all grants and special projects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED, two years of accounting experience.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business with four years of accounting experience, preferably in government accounting.

CERTIFICATION/TRAINING: Valid NM driver’s license with a good driving record.

ABILITIES/SKILLS:

• Must be able to administer independent projects as assigned and use ten-key calculator by touch.

• Considerable computer knowledge must be particularly familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written directions and instructions.

• Ability to use tact and courtesy in working with fellow county employees and the general public, and work effectively in a sometimes stressful environment.

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English, prepare and present both oral and written reports and type relatively error-free.

• Must be detail oriented and accurate, have strong organizational and public relations skills and be able to effectively safeguard confidential information.

• Work independently using good judgment and decision-making skills.

• Employee must know and understand County Personnel Policy as well as all county and departmental policies pertinent to the position.

• Ability to work irregular hours, travel and attend job related meetings as deemed appropriate by CFO as a condition of employment.

• Ability to cross-train in other department functions.

• Must be able to maintain an acceptable attendance record, be punctual and meet established deadlines.
