PROJECT MANAGER/CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Seeking motivated and experienced (CM/PM) Project Manager/Construction Manager construction project technical education and experience to join us at the John F. Kennedy Center Performing Arts renovation project in Washington DC. Candidates will report to a Project Executive as well as collaborate and assist facility staff to provide data, as serve a representative for the client on the construction project. The project will be done during night hours and the manager will be required to work on-site from midnight to 8 am consistently.

Responsibilities:

Construction Manager will be required to learn, teach, and implement industry, client, and internal company best practices related to project delivery, budget, schedule, quality, and operations in the museum/performing arts center environment. A summary of the major tasks is below:

  • Provides project and/or construction management of a single major program or project (s), and/or multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provides decisive direction regarding business, technical and personnel management involving multi-disciplinary and diverse functional activities.
  • Responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule. Maintains daily progress reports and inspection reports.
  • Leads the inspection and quality assurance team assigned to projects to ensure timely and effective project oversight.
  • Directly manage on-site activities including materials testing and special inspections.
  • Other tasks as assigned by direct report, as needed.
  • During this project the client does require that you will be available to work during off hours, 12 am - 8 am.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensing: None Required
  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture. Engineering or Construction Management is preferred or 5 additional years of experience as a construction manager.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in managing facility construction projects, including supervision of engineering, design and construction, schedule control, cost management, program budgeting, and overall project management activities. Professional experience should include the ability to read and interpret construction documents and communicate effectively with project construction team members. Demonstrated ability to build relationship and collaborate with various construction trades, vendors, managers, engineers, architects, and others from specialized professional fields.
  • Leadership: Must possess the skillset and competency to supervise and manage the personnel of diverse skillsets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a museum, performing arts, or other cultural construction projects
  • Experience as an Owners Representative
  • Experience on construction projects in DC Metro Area
  • CCM, CQM, PMP, OSHA certifications
