Position Description
SERES Engineering & Services, LLC (SERES) is an environmental consulting, engineering, and remediation firm headquartered in Charleston, SC. We have over 10 years of experience providing engineering consulting, regulatory compliance and operational support to Federal, State and Local governments; chemical / industrial manufacturing companies; transportation / distribution operations; engineering firms; contractors; law firms; financial institutions; and maintenance / repair facilities.
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Geologist (or related discipline that meets the qualifications). The selected candidate will support projects for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and other government agencies, and will work both independently and as part of a larger team to execute environmental investigation and remediation projects. This is a home-based position but will require traveling to project sites within Middlesex County, MA on a regular basis during long-duration field investigations and potentially travel and overnight stays at a project site in Western MA.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead large environmental field investigations and remediation in accordance with approved plans, including mentoring junior staff in the execution of field projects.
- Oversee and work productively with subcontractors such as utility locaters, drillers, surveyors, and laboratories while assuring work scopes and safety requirements are met.
- Prepare or support development of complex written technical reports (e.g., UFP-QAPPs, APPs, RI Reports, FS Reports, Annual Groundwater Reports, LUCIPs, RODs, etc.) with limited oversight and the ability to direct and mentor junior-level staff during the interpretation of data and preparation of technical reports.
- Participate in preparation of technical cost proposals and proposal development.
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline
- Well installation experience
- Sufficient work experience to immediately qualify as a USACE 5-year Site Safety and Health Officer (OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety training provided, if needed)
- Working knowledge of Federal and/or State regulatory guidelines
- Ability to travel to project sites on a regular basis
- Seven years of environmental experience
- Ability to pass a background check in order to access military bases
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- DoD experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
