Project Architect

Cubework, leader in creative space, coworking, commercial & industrial storage, retail, pop-up shops, and event space, is looking for a Project Architect to join our team. With over 45+ locations in 17 states (and growing), the role of the CA is to provide professional architectural expertise from Schematic Design through building permit submittal and Construction Administration within our existing and new building portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • This candidate will need to understand various building types within Cubework portfolio (commercial retail buildings and industrial warehouses).
  • Manage projects from early concept through design development
  • Prepare drawings (unit design), specifications, and construction documents
  • A licensed Architect preferred, with relevant work experience and a strong knowledge of Revit, building codes, documentation, and constructability.
  • Research and lead code reviews and regulatory approval process
  • Create complete and thorough set of design documents to meet project goals, milestones, and schedule for our unit designs, and tenant improvements which will involve in office designs.
  • Design and document commercial and industrial building projects and retail experience centers
  • Consult with Projects team and C- level executives to determine the project scope and requirements
  • Coordinate preliminary architectural studies for major new structures and alterations to existing structures and site development
  • Organize and manage permit documents
  • Work with teams across business lines and coordinate with subcontractors and engineers
  • Research, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials and systems
  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
  • Modify existing plans to fit evolving business needs
  • Provide engineering analysis and recommended prioritization for Capital Investment Budgets
  • Support and maintain positive relationships with communities in which we operate to enhance long-term working relationship with community officials
  • Advise on the selection of planning and engineering consultants retained directly or indirectly for design/build, construction management and program management project delivery systems

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have the ability to translate the business needs into visual concepts and preliminary designs and lead the project all the way through construction drawings and working on site
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a can-do attitude and approach the opportunity with determination
  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Architecture
  • Licensed to practice Architecture in a U.S. jurisdiction preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the design of commercial and industrial buildings or related field.
  • Ability to communicate both conceptual designs and construction details in two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms
  • The successful candidate will understand the general operations, potentials and limitations of BIM and CADD platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Keen attention to detail along with exceptional organizational skills
  • Quality focus and the ability to maintain strict adherence to schedule and budget
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency, managing multiple projects and priorities concurrently
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multi-discipline teams to meet project objectives
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and meetings as needed
  • Must be willing to travel as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
