Primary Duties:
  • Reviews and verifies all information and confirms orders with vendors.
  • Coordinates purchasing documentation and notifies the appropriate staff of any discrepancies or problems; updates animal ordering requisition data to reflect applicable changes.
  • Utilize the university financial system to create purchase orders.
  • Uses corporate purchasing card for authorized purchases. Maintains procurement records and logs according to university and state policies.
  • Ensures the prompt and accurate delivery of requested goods and resolves any issues about orders placed.
  • Serves as a resource for research staff and vendors regarding the procurement process.
  • Provides exceptional customer service as liaison between vendors, staff, colleagues, researchers, and accounts payable.
  • Review and approve travel requests and travel expenses
  • Administer purchasing and travel management for the department divisions, including procurement card purchases, initiating purchase requisitions, and processing travel reimbursements.
  • Prepares travel debit memos.
  • Runs periodic reports on financial data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: Two (2) years of administrative or program coordination experience.
Other: Master's degree in Public Health or Science may be substituted for administrative experience.
Related experience to the program may be substituted for minimum education.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in the effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. Ability to demonstrate, understand, apply, and adhere to the UMB Core Values of Respect and Integrity, Well-being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery. Ability to prepare and monitor budgets.

Hiring Range: $58K - $67K (Commensurate with education and experience)
