Profile Roll Forming Process Engineer Job at HUTCHINSON SEALING SYSTEMS, INC
SUMMARY:
The Forming Roll Engineer reports to the Process Engineer Manager. The Engineer will design, assemble and development roll form tooling by utilizing engineering principles to design, perform testing, trouble shooting and repairs on company equipment, tools or processes. Willing to train the right individual willing to learn all extruding roll forming machines, extrusion process, and associated tooling and equipment.
Generate drawings, schematics and specification, trouble shoots specific problems, makes adjustments of equipment, tools and /or processes, confers with appropriate personnel and makes necessary recommendations concerning solutions to problems regarding bright stainless steel roll forming process, or extrusion process. The position requires considerable judgment to work independently in the analysis of facts and in the determination of actions to be taken guided by precedent and within the limits of established policy. The Engineer works under direction requiring the use of a wide range of procedures and referring unusual cases to supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may entail regular contacts with other departments, furnishing or obtaining information, analyzing and reporting scrap, reporting faulty equipment, discrepant materials and/or unusual conditions to appropriate personnel. May participate in planning, design, fabrication and production of new products and perform other related duties as required or directed.
- Design and develop of production roll forming equipment and processes.
- Design tooling in roll form specific CAD software
- Supports the production department
- Utilization of engineering principles to perform testing, trouble shooting, and repairs on company equipment, tools and/or processes.
- Making adjustments of equipment, tools and/or processes, confers with appropriate personnel, makes recommendation concerning solutions to problems.
- Participation in planning, design, fabrication and production of new products.
- Maintenance of production roll forming tool, equipment and processes.
- Set-up, adjustment, and polishing of roll forming tools
- Troubleshoot and correct marks on class A surface from roll form machine during production.
- Constant support on line for immediate correction or decision to stop for corrective action.
- Responds to issues on line to prevent downtime and corrects problems as needed.
- Responds to breakdowns and repairs, working with other departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Experience in an industrial environment preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires the use of advanced mathematics involved in the application of engineering principles and the performance of related practical operation, together with a comprehensive knowledge of the theories and practices of mechanical, electrical, chemical, or civil or like engineering field. The position requires a four (4) year degree of technical or university education
Experience in Profile Roll Forming preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry and algebra.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficiency with Excel, Word and MS Office Suite software.
Proficiency with CAD /Solidworks preferred.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
