Position Summary

In collaboration with the K-12 Academic Team, the Professional Development Instructor will be responsible for providing curriculum training to administrators and teachers, develop curriculum-related professional development, and provide on-campus instructional coaching as needed. Travel will be required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Submission of a valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree
• 5+ years of teaching experience
• Curriculum training experience
• Instructional coaching experience

Key Skills

• Familiarity with Core Knowledge, Eureka Math, CKSci K-5, OpenSciED 6-8, CK-12 Science, Pearson Social studies and ELA resources, CKHG, RAISE Leadership curriculum, HMH History and ELA resources for 7-12, Elements of Literature, and/or curriculum utilized in Charter One-managed schools, as well as the Elements of Effective Lessons
• Willingness to familiarize self with new curricula and resources
• Knowledge of effective teaching strategies, curriculum implementation, and ALA’s evaluation tool and rubric.
• Computer proficiency (Google Suite, Microsoft Suite)
• Skilled in coaching and leadership

General Responsibilities

• Become familiar with current school curricula.
• Train administrators, teachers, and staff on curriculum implementation.
• Consult with/train board members on curriculum.
• Enter curriculum into our Learning Management System (LMS), Cornerstone.
• Ensure administrators and teachers are familiar with curriculum map updates.
• Assist with the acquisition of appropriate textbooks, and other instructional materials and equipment.
• Observe and evaluate curriculum implementation as needed.
• In coordination with the Directors of Academics, provide support to teachers through coaching, modeling, mentoring.
• In coordination with the Academic team, develop and create appropriate curriculum-related training materials including, but not limited to: PD training videos, online learning modules, handouts, handbooks, and demonstration models.
• Coordinate with campus administrators and staff to schedule filming of teaching practices.
• Work with Professional Development Coordinator to create and use tools such as questionnaires and surveys to evaluate curriculum-related professional development effectiveness and identify areas of need.
• Encourage participation in staff development initiatives and activities by effectively marketing them.
