Production Welder-2nd shift Job at Snelling - Birmingham
Snelling is searching for exceptional Welders for a well-established company in the Trussville, AL area. The pay rate for this position is $19.00-24.00/hr. This is a 2nd Shift opening with a 10% differential pay. Apply Today with Confidence!
Overall Responsibility –
Fitting & welding parts using information from production drawings, shop travelers & work instructions as required utilizing MIG welder, fixtures, and basic welding tools to meet print specifications.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities –
Responsible for setting appropriate welding machine parameters for the material being welded.
Responsible for making welds to meet print specifications.
Responsible for producing strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
Follows required procedures and uses appropriate fixtures to assist in the assembly process.
The basic operation of robotic weld cell as assigned.
Verifies conformance of finished part to print specifications and quality standards.
Responsible for properly using and maintaining tools, fixtures, and machines.
Responsible for keeping the work area clean and orderly.
Skills and Attributes –
Knowledge of welding processes and equipment.
Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead with good penetration and a quality weld.
Ability to operate acetylene torches.
Math skills including metric systems and angles.
Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
Ability to read blueprint drawings and AWS weld symbols.
Ability to operate forklift and overhead cranes.
Physical ability to weld in awkward positions such as kneeling or lying down.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Experience Requirements –
Vocational school training or three years welding experience in a related field.
