Tasks


Position Summary:

Independently plan and schedule production of orders. Plan and schedule with Toll manufacturers if required. Monitor and order resale materials from customer orders and cross-plant raw materials/sub-compounds to support production plans. Track, direct and report on customer order status to all applicable internal clients/departments. Follow through on on-time deliveries. Communicate throughout the internal and external Supply Chain.

Essential Functions:

  • Review incoming customer orders, forecasted demand for material and production availability. Plan and schedule Flavor production. Plan production with Tollers and work closely with other Planners to ensure all are informed on plan. Place and expedite orders in a timely manner to maintain inventories that best assures continuous production. Notify Buyer Planners of RM requirements and shortages and plan production of intermediates or subs when necessary. Maintain material shortage logs in filling orders and production orders.
  • Act as information liaison for key departments involved in order process (Customer Service, Buyers, etc.) Communicate known or anticipated problems that will cause order delays that will adversely affect customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain appropriate master data information within SAP and other related computer systems, in order to ensure timely purchases of packing goods for production.
  • Manage various key reports/ alerts in Lotus Notes database (NBA, LBA, FTPA). Monitor customer floor stock levels to ensure material availability. Produce reports requested by management. Other tasks as requested. Keep kosher production information/records for Rabbi’s review. Plan and manage kosher campaigns and labels.
  • Monitor customer directed floor stock inventory levels and ensure material availability.
  • Perform all duties and special projects identified by Manager

Qualifications
  • Degree B.S. / B.A. in related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Planning/Scheduling environment; preferably from the Flavor, Fragrance, Food Ingredients or related industries.
  • APICS or NAPM (ISM) certification a plus
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Strong aptitude in working with numbers within an MRP materials management environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interface with a variety of levels within the organization and vendor community.
  • Ability to determine prioritize, plan, organize and follow through on projects.
  • Must be resourceful in attaining information and providing options to resolve open issues.
  • Must be analytical and objective with the ability to make sound judgements based on varying degrees of information.
  • PC Computer skills: Word, Excel, SAP and knowledge of automated centralized manufacturing systems(s) essential.
