LaSalle Lumber Company is a partnership between Hunt Forest Products, a well-established Company in the Louisiana forest products industry, and Tolko Industries, an equally-renowned Company in the Canadian forest products landscape. We are a southern yellow pine sawmill in Urania, Louisiana and primarily produce 2×4, 2×6 and some 4×4 and 4×6 lumber.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be expected to perform administrative and accounting responsibilities, to support the Forestry Department and Production areas of the Company. The position will be liaison between suppliers/vendors and the Forestry Department. This position works with confidential, accounting/financial, technical and clerical information/procedures, which will demand high attention to detail and the use of independent judgment, within policy and/or procedural guidelines. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager and will provide support to additional office staff as needed.

Position requirements will include having a working knowledge and the know how to perform the daily tasks of other clerical/office positions (i.e., accounting, receptionist duties, weigh master duties, etc.).

Pay range is commensurated with education and experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· This position will provide direct administrative and accounting/data services to Forestry/Procurement Department. Duties will include daily, weekly and monthly production reports, as required by Management.

· Set up new vendors as needed. Create, reconcile and process purchase agreements and payments for contractors. Create A/R entries for Vendors hauling product into mill. Responsible for issuing ‘log tickets’ daily.

· Reconcile log tickets daily, with log load receipts, input data into the Log Inventory and Management system (LIMS). Tracking production or exports of mill and location of product.

· Enter, verify and upload residuals reporting, daily. Invoice vendors accordingly. Assist with log inventory as needed.

· Generate and maintain vendor finance reporting.

· Generates production orders; records, compiles, and performs system transactions related to production data, material consumption and other important elements of production. Generating and disseminating production reports.

· Examines production documentation and/or work process documents to evaluate accuracy and completeness.

· Responsible for the preparation of data/analysis spreadsheets and production reports as requested. Prepare various monthly reports of purchases and expenses for management review.

· Assist operations team with data analysis and data entry.

· Records, organizes and maintains any documentation pertaining to production and inventory records.

· Assists with Accounts Payable and office administrative duties, as needed and directed by Supervisor. Will assist with answering main phone and greeting guests.

· Other duties and responsibilities as needed in support of plant operations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years minimum experience in accounting preferred
  • 3 years minimum experience in an administrative office setting required
  • Accounting Degree or Forestry Degree preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required - NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Experience with LIMS program a plus
  • Timber/Manufacturing experience a preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively in multi person office environment, Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks required. Must be able to give attention to detail.
  • Must be able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks/reporting as required.
  • Job offer contingent on passing pre-employment drug screen and post offer physical.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
