About the Production Manager Role:
BRIC seeks a Production Manager to execute several overlapping events throughout the year using in-person, hybrid, or virtual formats for the Performing Arts, Contemporary Arts, Community Media, Education, Administration & Development, and Rentals. Reporting to the Director of Production, the Production Manager plays a critical role in serving BRIC’s community-centered mission in a way that is sustainable within the operational resources of BRIC.
What You’ll Do in the Role:
The Production Manager will be responsible for the following in addition to any other projects as assigned by their manager, the Director of Production:
- Collaborate with the Director of Production to manage production activity within BRIC.
- Develop and implement production policies that ensure safe working conditions and high organizational and artistic standards.
- Manage relationships and lead all communication with internal and external stakeholders for production events from inception to completion.
- Lead and manage all production meetings, processes, equipment, and crew related to BRIC productions.
- Act as Technical point of contact for BRIC Producers and Rental Clients for a wide range of performance events and venues.
- Manage hiring and scheduling processes for all freelance staff and vendors through assessing skills, staffing production crews of up to 12, and approving timesheets.
- Train and mentor artists and freelance staff during load-ins, technical rehearsals, performances, and strikes.
- Manage vendors on-site for events.
- Coordinate resource allocation with internal and external stakeholders including: Operations, BRICTV, Community Media, Contemporary Arts, and vendors in collaboration with Production Department leadership.
- Collaborate with the team to execute post-mortem and post-production workflows to ensure the success of future events.
- Coordinate team documentation including meeting reports, staffing spreadsheets, production media, payroll reminders, personnel information, manuals, etc.
- Act as Production Supervisor as needed.
- Work with the Director of Production to create event-specific and annual budgets that include, but are not limited to, labor, equipment, and maintenance.
- Manage the inventory of production equipment and shop materials using web checkout.

- Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a production manager, project manager, or related field; experience with a touring production preferred.
- Experience in lighting, audio, projections, and theatrical carpentry skills.
- Experience using cross-platform technology and equipment in production and editing systems.
- OSHA, CPR, and AED certifications are preferred.
- Superior skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) & Google Suite.
- Experience operating digital presentation platforms including Zoom, vMix, Hopin, OBS, and WebCheckout.
- Required to have a valid driver’s license and experience driving a 26’ box truck is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, promoting mutual accountability and inspiring trust from internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal communication, in addition to exceptional written and oral communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of standard theatrical and event practices, equipment, and software in the areas of theatrical lighting, rigging, sound, projection, video, and virtual media including but not limited to ETC consoles, Qlab, Vectorworks, Zoom, and Vmix.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize complex workload.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a large number of staff, clients, community members, guest artists, and other professionals representing a wide diversity of personalities and culture.
- Communication & Relationship Building: Committed to effective communication and building relationships with internal staff, producers, and artists, and external crew, clients, and vendors.
- Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Brings experience operationalizing equity within event production and setting an equity and justice rooted strategy for staffing and team management.
Other Things to Know:
- Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $65K - $75K.
- Status and location: This is a full-time, exempt role based in our Brooklyn office.

BRIC currently pays 100% of the premium for employee medical, dental and vision coverage starting on the first of the month after 2 months of employment.
